The world is experiencing a number of increasing challenges and Natalie Rayment from Wolter Consulting Group sought to shed light on how we plan for some of these at the Sunshine Coast City Council’s Mayoral Round Table on Homelessness. By walking us through the lengthy process behind getting Beddown off the ground, and talking through the difficulties around red-tape and static regulations associated with obtaining planning and building approval for innovative solutions like Beddown, Natalie illustrated the current gaps in how we deal with such challenges, and touched on opportunities for future legislative powers to plan for our vulnerable communities.
